Two session workshop with Sara Hand Thursday 8am-9:30am September 22nd and Thursday, September 29th  Whether your company is new or has been around for a while, a strategic approach to marketing with a practical plan for implementation can revolutionize your cash flow. What will you learn? Focus: Where do you provide the most value? What makes you unique?  Everyone is not your prospect, so… Getting your message out is important. Getting your message out to someone who could be your prospect is more important. Getting a message out that distinguishes your business as unique and different to someone who could be your prospect is essential if you don’t want to compete on price alone. Market: Who are your potential prospects? Of all your potential prospects, where do you start?  A segment is a portion, a particular group within your potential prospects that share similar characteristics. Your ideal prospect is the best potential prospect for your purpose. Your value proposition is a stance on how you provide value and what makes you unique, combined with the needs of the prospect that can most benefit from what you provide, AND can reward you profitably for providing this VALUE! Eliminate excuses and begin to take control of what and how much business is coming into your company. “Pick the biggest market you can successfully dominate, the biggest slice where you can get through the Dip and be seen as the best in that world. If you can become number one in your niche, you’ll get more than your fair share of profits, glory, and long-term security.”                                                        Seth Godin SUCCESS starts by showing up. For most this is too early, too much work or just too much money! Cost to attend $99 Payment accepted: check, Visa, Discover, MasterCard, and American Express  Pre-registration required!  What could happen if you could produce better results and optimize your time, money and intellectual efforts? What would it be like if your business made more money from the same amount of effort you were currently putting in? What would that look like! It won’t just happen; you are going to need to do something different. No Change equals No Change. If you think, if I only work harder…if...

As a founder of BarCamp Sarasota, one of the things that falls under my responsibility is choosing our monthly Lunch and Learn topics and the speakers who speak to these topics. I have often said people don’t know what they don’t know, which is exactly WHY our August 19th topic is “There is more than one way to page one.” I  hear people discussing their challenges or strategies  to gain influence online. In my positions with BarCamp Sarasota and some of the other organizations I am involved with; my take on this is somewhat different.  Many people or companies will talk as if they have the “magic pill” for search engine rankings. I have seen new sites hit page one in less than a week and seen others never get there. Tracy Ingram, a co-founder of BarCamp Sarasota and a brilliant SEO strategist will be sharing on a variety of tools that could get you to page one, which page one you want to get to and what to do when you get there. Friday August 19th at the Mad Crow Brewery staring at 11:30. Guest contributor – Tracy Ingram  – Be Seen Seo With all the competition on the Internet, getting top rankings can seem like an overwhelming task. Join Tracy Ingram as he discusses what works and your most effective options for consistently high ranking in search engine results.  Time: August 19, 2011 from 11:30am to 1:15pm Location: Mad Crow Street: 1525 4th St. City/Town: Sarasota, FL Website or Map:… Event Type: lunch, and, learn, barcamp, sarasota, tracyingram, seo, rankings, page1  While Google is not the only search engine out there,  it is the biggest search engine and with the most traffic. You will find at this Lunch and Learn that there is more than one way to get to page one out there.  Social media and  Videos as just one way to get to page one. Even inside Google there are many ways:  PPC, Local, Long tail, and Video Images. Tracy will discuss all of these and more in an open discussion on how to actually get to page one and what that means. You may even come away with the knowledge of not only where you...

2011 is Here…Now What?

As I watched the Rose Bowl Parade it was interesting to see the top resolutions for 2011 as they scrolled across the screen: Lose weight Save money Make more money Spend time with family For many people the resolutions look the same year after year. Why? Because they actually only make progress for a short period of time before those goals are abandoned. With years of fruitless and undistinguished efforts behind them, some people have now actually resolved not to make resolutions. The challenge with most resolutions is that they are simply statements of intent. Many of these are ambiguous in nature, such as those listed above. With nothing specific and without any actual plan on how to accomplish the statement, how could anyone ever be successful regardless of how hard they worked toward the goal? If your experience with goal setting has been frustrating…I encourage you to take a look at five components I look at when working with setting goals. Examine priorities. What is really important? Craft  life value statements Set goals. Create an action plan. AND don’t forget accountability… the support team that will encourage you and yet hold your feet to the fire to get it...
